TBY Yoga is an in-person yoga studio in Libertyville, IL with an online yoga platform called 'TBY On-Demand'.


We offer functional, alignment-based in person yoga classes, livestream classes, videos, and events for anybody who wants to calm their mind and practice being good to themselves.

Julia Jonson 

Yoga Educator, E-RYT 500, TBY Yoga Creative Director, lululemon Ambassador

Julia has devoted much of her life to yoga, teaching yoga, and helping others to understand how to apply yogic philosophy to daily life. As a yoga and meditation student since 1991, Julia has completed advanced study and apprenticeship with her primary teacher, Gabriel Halpern. With more than one thousand hours of training and decades of personal experience, she is dedicated to helping the world be a better place through the ancient practice of yoga.

Andrew Gurvey

Co-owner, Yoga Teacher, Engineer

Andrew walked into his first yoga class in 2005 when he was overweight, depressed, and hopeless about life. He quickly started feeling better in his body and developing self-confidence–he was hooked! After a few years of practice and completing his teacher training in 2009, he noticed that the more he slowed down, the more he realized there was so much more to the practice than just physical exercise.

Rich Logan

Yoga Teacher

Rich travels the world studying and teaching massage therapy and Yoga. A meditation practitioner since 1978, serious student of Yoga since 1998, and teacher since 2001— he promotes a mindful practice, bringing one to the edge of ‘experience’ to ‘witness’ the moment unfold and realize it is us who is the unfolding.

Komal Bhonagiri

Yoga Teacher, E-RYT 500

Komal was introduced to Yoga while working as a Homeopathic Physician in India in 1996. She started learning the Iyengar method of yoga with Instructor Ali Dashti from the well-known Iyengar institute of Yoga in Pune, India. Komal quickly understood the value of Yoga practice in creating wellness and the use of props for those with physical limitations.

Olga Parlov

Olga is a passionate yoga instructor with a strong foundation in ballroom dancing, where she competed at both amateur and professional levels. Her introduction to yoga began in high school as a way to enhance her flexibility and improve her dance performance. Olga completed her teacher training at TBY Yoga under the guidance of Julia Jonson.

Anitha Bellary

Yoga Teacher

Anitha believes that consistent yoga practice brings about a transformation at every level -  body, mind, and spirit. She is strongly influenced by her Indian cultural background and along with her yoga teaching, also pursues Indian scriptural studies at the Vedantic Center, Grayslake, IL.

Carole began practicing yoga in her mid-50s after spending decades developing tight hamstrings and hip flexors. She initially added yoga to her exercise regime to gain flexibility and calm her type A personality… but now the practice means so much more to her.

Kim has been practicing yoga for a decade. Her passion for the discipline further deepened following a significant health diagnosis in 2016. During that time, Kim discovered that yoga cultivated a sense of comfort and solace. She found that her practice time created stillness and gave her a safe place to just be. Yoga became a crucial element in restoring her to health and well-being.

Allie Hulen

Allie’s yoga journey began several years ago at a time when anxiety often got the best of her. While attending her first yoga class, she experienced a reprieve from the weight and worry - a wholeness and a calming of the mind. With a consistent yoga practice, the physical benefits of asana were wonderful, but it was the benefits in mental and emotional health that made yoga so empowering.

Tyadg McGauley

Tyadg is a former professional hockey player who was introduced to meditation through Sports Psychology at a young age. This practice ended up changing the course of his life to the point where he retired mid-career to live in an ashram in Northern Canada. He has since worked with and taught meditation to various groups including at-risk youth, Indigenous Nations, professional hockey players, and other high-level athletes.
